Laredo Sleep Clinics Expand Overnight Evaluations at Two Locations
Facilities on McPherson Road and Del Mar Boulevard now offer expanded overnight evaluations amid growing local demand.
How we reported this
Laredo sleep clinics recorded a 22 percent rise in overnight studies during the first half of 2026 compared with the same period last year.
The increase tracks with Laredo’s established wellness routines that emphasize recovery after long shifts near the border crossings and in the warehouse districts. Summer heat along the Rio Grande keeps indoor temperatures high at night, prompting more residents to seek clinical checks rather than rely on general advice from family doctors.
Two clinics expand testing capacity
The Laredo Sleep Center at 4500 McPherson Road added two new monitoring bays in May and now schedules polysomnography tests on weeknights. Staff there track breathing, heart rate and oxygen levels for patients referred from local primary-care offices. Five blocks south, the South Texas Wellness Institute on Del Mar Boulevard began a partnership with Webb County public health nurses in June to prioritize workers from the industrial parks along Mines Road.
Both sites accept most major insurance plans and keep a short wait list for initial consultations. Appointments for the full overnight study typically require a physician referral and begin with a daytime intake at the same address.
Cost and participation data
A standard overnight sleep study at either location starts at $775 out of pocket when insurance does not cover the charge, according to price sheets posted in June. The Laredo Health Department’s 2025 community survey found 47 percent of adults along the city’s west side reported fewer than six hours of sleep on most nights, a figure that matches statewide trends reported by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
People who want to begin the process should call their regular physician for a referral form and then contact the chosen clinic directly to book an intake slot. Most evaluations are completed within two weeks of the first visit, after which results are sent back to the referring doctor for follow-up care.
